How to complete a Title Search in ACT

Conduct a title search for properties in ACT directly on the Landchecker Map or through the Document Searches page under Standard Searches.

An ACT title search will provide you with the official record of who owns the property, including registered interests on the property such as a mortgage or caveat.

Purchasing a Title on the Map

Follow the steps below to purchase a title using the full address or parcel details.

1. Search for a property on the address search bar located at the top left corner of the Map.

2. Go to the Documents tab on the right-hand side panel. Then add a Job Reference, tick the checkbox next to ACT Title Search, and click “Add selected items to shopping cart”.

3. Click the shopping cart icon in the navigation bar. You can choose View Cart to review your order or Purchase to quickly buy the document.

If you chose View Cart, double-check your order and click Go To Checkout.

4. Once you are happy with your selection for Delivery Method and Payment Method, click Buy.

Delivery Methods:

Send a separate email for each order item - best for orders with documents that have varying estimated times of delivery.

Send one email including all order items - get one email with all documents attached once they have all been fulfilled.

Send no email and notify me for each order item with an in-app notification - you won’t receive an email and can download your fulfilled documents from your Order Manager.

Purchasing a Title on the Document Searches page, under Standard Searches

If you have the volume/folio, you can purchase a title directly from the Document Searches page, under Standard Searches. This will save you time, as you will not need to look up the property address or parcel details on the map.

1. Click on Document Searches in the navigation bar and select the Standard Searches tab. Select State - ACT and click Next.

2. Enter the Job Reference. Then under the list of Products, click on ACT Title Search and add the volume/folio. Click Add to Cart.

3. Select the shopping cart icon in the navigation bar to checkout and purchase the title.

Note: If you do not have the Volume/Folio, you can enter the full property address in the textbox for an ACT Title Search. Please include the suburb and postcode. Our Support Team will reach out to you if there are any issues verifying the property.
