How to view the Low and Mid-Rise (LMR) Housing Planning Layer
The Low and Mid-Rise Housing Policy in New South Wales (NSW) is a government initiative aimed at increasing housing supply, diversity and affordability in well-located areas.
It enables a wider range of housing types—like terraces, duplexes, townhouses and small apartment buildings—especially near transport hubs, local centres and existing infrastructure.
This policy supports medium-density development that blends into established neighbourhoods while helping to meet the growing demand for housing in urban and suburban areas.
Watch the video or read the instructions below on how to activate this planning layer on the Landchecker platform.
1. Log in to your Landchecker account
2. Make sure that the Map is in New South Wales or search for a specific NSW property using the address or Lot/DP number
3. In the left-hand side panel, click the Planning Layers icon
