How to purchase a Land Information Certificate in Victoria

Land information certificates provide a summary of rates, charges, valuations and any other monies owing, and any orders or notices made under the Local Government Act 1958, Local Government Act 1989 or under a local law of the council.

You can order a land information certificate in Landchecker through the Documents Searches tab and select Certificate Searches.

1. Click on Document Searches in the navigation bar

2. Click on Certificates

3. Select State - VIC. Then select Next

4. Select the property identifier you wish to Search By, then select Search. Property Identifiers include;

Address

Council Number

Crown Description

Lot/Plan

SPI

Volume/Folio

5. Enter the job reference if applicable

6. Scroll down to the Certificates section

7. Select the tickbox next to Land Information Certificate

Note: It may be a requirement for a copy of the Register Search Statement (Title) and/or Copy of Plan to be purchased with a Water Information Statement. These documents will automatically be added to your cart if required.

8. Click Add selected items to shopping cart

9. Select your shopping cart icon in the navigation bar

10. Select View Cart or Purchase

11. Click Go To Checkout

12. Once you are happy with your selection for Delivery method and Payment method, click Buy

13. The est. delivery time for these certificates varies depending on the authority delivering the document. For example, City of Maribyrnong has an est. delivery time of 10 days and Greater Geelong has an est. delivery time of 7 days.
